The Team Behind Somebody Digital have Launched User Fountain – A Managed Service for User Testing


The Somebody Digital Team have launched a new product this week, User Fountain – a managed service for user testing. We created it as we realised the huge value user testing offered for clients when we provided it as part of our conversion rate optimisation programs.


User testing is a highly effective method of keeping close to your customer and making sure that your online presence correctly portrays your brand, has no friction points and is optimised for conversion. There is nothing more powerful than watching and listening to a real user completing tasks on your site and assessing how your experience performs. Especially when users get stuck on what you thought was a simple task! User testing really can uncover goldust.


Managed User Testing

Yet the user testing market is a challenging place for clients to enter on their own due to resource, expertise and cost challenges. Many teams simply don’t have the right skills and time to run effective user testing studies. At the same time, quality user testing tools often require high cost annual subscriptions, making user testing inaccessible for many.


Through User Fountain we run user testing studies for clients as one off projects and have created a highly insightful and actionable report to summarise the key findings and next steps based on the results. All with the aim of improving our customers’ online presence for their users and increasing conversion rate.


Research from the NNGroup states that with 5 testers a user testing study will uncover about 80% of usability problems. Of course, the more testers, the more robust your study becomes but uncovering 80% of usability problems is a big win! That’s why at User Fountain we have created an entry level package for user testing studies with 5 users. We want to make user testing accessible to all and embed it in organisations as an ongoing and regular exercise.
